Econo Lift Surge 8,000 lb — Rough Water Side Mount
The Econo Lift Surge 8,000 lb is our entry rough-water side mount, engineered for slips that see challenging or open-water conditions. Two rough water tanks and a 4-arm cradle raise and hold up to 8,000 pounds and keep a loaded boat steady through wave action. It is deep water only and not suitable for shallow water installations.
The Surge build is what sets it apart: a V-shaped rear tank that disperses wave impact, tanks 6 inches taller than standard for extra buoyancy, a frame 2 feet wider for balance, and double bushings at the arm pivot points for strength. It side-mounts in slips 10 to 14 feet wide.
Like every Econo Lift, the Surge 8,000 lb is built at our family-owned facility in Camdenton, Missouri, using USA-sourced hot-dip galvanized steel and our own rotationally molded flotation tanks. It is not imported.

What boats fit on a 8,000 lb lift?
Built for rough, open-water slips, the Surge 8,000 lb holds mid-size boats steady where wave action would push a standard lift around. It comfortably accommodates:
- Center consoles with outboard power and full fuel and gear loads
- Cabin cruisers that sit deep and carry their weight aft in choppy water
- Wake boats that take on ballast for surf and wake performance
- High-performance bow riders with bigger power and longer hulls
- Tritoons whose three tubes need a wide, well-supported cradle
The Surge 8,000 lb is deep water only. For a heavier boat, a wider slip, or catamarans and larger tritoons, step up to the Surge 12,000 lb. Size to your boat's wet weight, with fuel, water, gear, and any ballast.

Specifications
Specifications, explained
Two tall rough water tanks generate the buoyancy to raise an 8,000 lb load and stand 6 inches taller than standard tanks for extra lift above choppy water.
A 4-arm cradle spreads the load, and double bushings at the arm pivot points add strength and stability in rough conditions.
The wider frame and the V-shaped rear tank disperse wave impact and keep a loaded boat balanced where a standard lift would rock.
Side-mounted along a 10 to 14 foot slip. Deep water only, not suitable for shallow installations.
The Surge 8,000 lb is our entry rough-water lift. For a heavier boat or a wider slip, the Surge 12,000 lb shares the same rough-water build. For calmer water at this capacity, the Meridian 8,000 lb front mount is a standard alternative.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the Surge 8,000 lb a rough water lift?
It is engineered for wave action. The V-shaped rear tank disperses wave impact, the tanks stand 6 inches taller than standard for buoyancy, the frame is 2 feet wider for balance, and the arm pivot points use double bushings for strength, so a loaded boat stays steady where a standard lift would rock.
Can I use it in shallow water?
No. The Surge is deep water only and not suitable for shallow water installations. For limited depth, see our Draft shallow-water series, which uses low-profile tanks built for shallow conditions.
What size boat fits on an 8,000 lb rough water lift?
Center consoles, cabin cruisers, wake boats, high-performance bow riders, and tritoons. Size the lift to your boat's wet weight, with fuel, water, gear, and any ballast.
What size slip does it need, and how does it mount?
It is a side mount sized for slips 10 to 14 feet wide, attaching to the dock along the side of the slip.
Which 8,000 lb lift should I choose?
For rough, open water, the Surge 8,000 lb is built to handle wave action and is deep water only. For a heavier boat or a wider slip up to 16 feet, step up to the Surge 12,000 lb. For calmer water, or a slip where you cannot attach along the sides, the Meridian 8,000 lb front mount is the standard alternative.
What warranty comes with it, and where is it made?
A lifetime original-purchaser warranty on the polyethylene tanks and bushings, a 5-year warranty on all hot-dip galvanized steel, and a 3-year warranty on the motors, valves, and hoses. It is built in Camdenton, Missouri with USA-sourced steel. See our full warranty details.
